Treatment
Instead of going to the doctor when people got sick in the Middle Ages people often turned to the church as a result of there strong christian beliefs. People related everything that happened to god and therefor went to the priest to get a blessing or pray that there disease or injury would go away or get better. After the Black Death started to kill, people immediately turned to god for the solution but to no success. Subsequently people moved to more scientific cures some quite strange. These included, washing yourself with urine, smearing yourself with human poo, and even rubbing your wounds with a live chicken. Doctors believed the plague was spread by air so when dealing with patients they war masks with long bird like beaks on them. They then filled the beak with oils and fragrances because they believed that the pleasant smell would keep away the bad air carrying the plague. When the plague struck people started looking for people to blame and many people started accusing the Jews of numerous things including poisoning the air and infecting the wells. This belief then led to the idea that killing Jews would help stop the plague but of cause this was untrue.
